Sophisticated and contemporary original music fusing jazz improvisation with infectious grooves meets fresh takes on timeless jazz and soul favourites, Highwalk brings together some of London’s leading young jazz talent. James, Ed and Mike met in 2014 whilst postgraduates at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and quickly found a musical affinity with one another, performing widely around London and beyond, including opening the 2015 Cambridge Jazz Festival. Their sound ranges from the delicately intimate to the infectiously groovy, combining self-penned material with quality songs from artists as varied as John Schofield, Brad Mehldau and Beyoncé.

In August 2015 Highwalk took part in the Jazz Ensembles course at Dartington International Summer School, with tutoring from Andy Sheppard, Steve Lodder and Martin France.

Tonight Highwalk are joined by local jazz drum hero David Burgoyne, well known around Cambridge for his work with Mode9, RCubed, Better than TV and many other groups.
