Mode 9

Formed and fronted by vocalist Ollie Lepage-Dean, Mode9 is a tasty fusion of neo-soul and slick jazz with just a hint of funk. Playing almost exclusively original music and arrangements written by Ollie himself, Mode9 mixes smooth melodies with the most unique harmonies and a sleek by fiery horn section (arrangements by James Brady Music).

Influences on the band include Erykah Badu, Esperanza Spalding and Jamie Cullum, and as well as hearing some of the best original writing around, audiences can also be treated to some popular favourites heard in astonishingly fresh and exciting arrangements including Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jagger and Stevie Wonder’s Superstition.

The band have recently returned from the recording studio and their new CD will be released shortly. Performing regularly in Cambridge for a variety of jazz nights and private functions, future plans for the group include a return tour to Brussels following great success in late 2013 and a tour to Northern England.
