Autumn Art @ Hot Numbers Coffee Roasters

Simon Kimmel

After a brief hiatus we’re really pleased to have 3 new exhibitions up for you to enjoy across our cafes anytime we’re open.

First up, we’re really excited to present our 1st exhibition at The Roastery since opening last year.

Simon Kimmel is a visual artist with a background in production design and the recipient of The Royal Television Society Award for design (2013). The seven works by Simon are created from aluminium composite sheeting and aluminium wire compromising crisp geometric panels and woven 3D lines of wire. We think they compliment the decor and vibe of The Roastery perfectly and would love to hear your feedback too!

Meanwhile in town we’re pleased to be showing two local artists.

Roxana De Rond

At Trumpington St we have another show by Roxana De Rond. Roxana is an illustrator with a passion for drawing people and dogs. She is a Children’s Book Illustration graduate of Anglia Ruskin University and works in pen & ink and gouache.

In February she began a series of pictures featuring some of Cambridge’s fantastic pubs. She continued to work on these during lockdown when pubs were not allowed to open, using earlier sketches or by drawing outside the closed venues. A selection of originals from this series are being exhibited for the 1st time ever at Hot Numbers!

Diyala Zada

Finally at Gwydir St we’re thrilled to be hosting the 1st solo show of Diyala Zada, a regular attendee of our long running Drink and Draw event which is currently on pause. Diyala started drawing as soon as she could grip a pencil and grew up in the UAE where she studied Fine Arts at Damascus University. Moving to the UK she earned an MA in Children’s Books Illustration from Anglia Ruskin University. Diyala draws inspiration from nature, mythical subjects and folklore stories of different cultures and enjoys working with watercolours and experimenting with other mediums such as linocut, risograph printmaking, and collages.

We hope you enjoy spending time with all 3 exhibitions which are free to view anytime we’re open!

Originals and prints are available to buy via each artist.
