A little update for June!

Written by Admin99, published 05-31-22

Hello from all of us at Hot Numbers Coffee – we thought we’d give you a little update on some of the things going on through June!

NEW MENU

The new summer menu is here!!!

The chef team have been wokring REALLY hard on this and they’ve come up with an incredible new menu. It’s live at the Roastery right now 😋 and then rolling out to the cafes in Cambridge – the plan is to have it live in Gwydir St by 2nd June and Trumpington St the week after from the 9th June.

We’re really excited about this sun filled offering and you’ll be pleased to know there’s an extended menu alongside our classics, with some truly delicious lunch options for Cambridge and beyond to try.

It includes options for vegetarians, dairy free and gluten free (although we cannot guarantee a totally gluten free environment). If you have any other dietry requirements please don’t hesitate to ask a member of staff when you arrive – we’re happy to help and want you to have a tasty visit every time!

WHAT’S IN THE HOPPERS? + OPENING TIMES JUBILEE WEEKEND

Whether
it’s a pourover, espresso or coffee with milk, we have a variety of
brews for you to taste and enjoy over the coming weeks so we thought we’d give you the low down. Here goes…

For you espresso heads out there we have:
1. Body & Soul – a beautifully balanced crowd pleaser!
2. Fredy Pineda from Honduras – caramel and apple. Yum.

Note:
We serve all espresso based drinks with a double shot as standard. If you would like less (or more) please let your friendly barista know!

Both of these above can be combined with your choice of milk to create gorgeous, velvety Hot Numbers.

In the pour over corner we have:
1. DGR blend – Rwanda & Colombia in a brew. Delicious. Hurry hurry as it’s almost all gone for 2022!
2. El Diviso from Colombia – a natural coffee with, as David in the
Roastery puts it, fruit bomb flavours! Definitely worth a try if you’re
into filter coffees.

El Planadas, one of our firm favourites and also from Colombia, is on the batch brews with flavours of almond and pear.

And remember, we have our much-loved nitro cold brews available in Trumpington St and the Roastery right now.

So that’s the coffee run down for this next few weeks.

Here’s some opening time news:

OPENING TIMES UNAFFECTED OVER JUBILEE WEEKEND: 7am – 5pm in all cafes, everyday. Roastery open ’til 9pm Fridays & Saturdays for pizza
night.

No table bookings, just turn up!
Well behaved dogs very welcome.

And remember, the new menu is rolling out this week and next. It’s already live in the Roastery, going live in Gwydir St by the weekend and will be in Trumpington St next week.

GIGS

We have a full schedule of weekly gigs for June and the first week or July already – please do continue to support Cambridge’s local musicians by coming along to our gigs. Don’t eat dinner and come along – we will be cooking up fine food, drinking tasty offerings and enjoying the atmosphere set by the talented musicians who come and play in our Gwydir St store.

We ask for donations of around £10 each and all of the money goes straight to the band.

The doors open at 6 for food and drinks, music usually starts around 7 and goes on until 10:30pm.

You can also find out more information about our upcoming gigs by visiting here.

FEATURED COFFEE OF THE MONTH

Hot Numbers Coffee have something exciting for our fellow coffee heads out there today… We’re proud to present an exceptional Geisha from El Mirador in Colombia. We love Colombian coffee here at Hot Numbers and this one is a tantalisingly tasty cup! This is to be freshly ground at home so you’ll find it on the shelves with this white bag & label.

Geisha is a variety of coffee hailing from Ethiopia but now is grown all over the ‘Bean Belt’. It is known for its unique flavour profiles of fruity and floral flavours.

This Geisha comes from the Viewpoint farm on the Planadas community, grown by Víctor Gutiérrez; a speciality producer and certified Qgrader. Grown at 1500 – 1700 MASL, this coffee has developed a delicate sweetness with notes of wine and pomegranate.

This is a super limited run for us, we purchased 35kg of green beans and carefully roasted to perfection. It is available in 200g bags from today but it won’t last forever… when its gone its gone!
