Join Martin Kemp and special invited guests to close this years Cambridge Jazz Festival at Hot Numbers with house band Organised Chaos.
Joining Martin and his regular sidemen will be excellent flautist Miriam Chachamu.
Also returning to Hot Numbers will be Costas Lambropoulos.
Costas was born in Athens and took contemporary singing lessons at the National Conservatory with his vocal coach Toula Katsafana. His love for jazz started while still in primary school when he discovered a collection of old 78rpm records with Cole Porter tunes, in the loft of his family home. While in Greece Costas did gigs with piano and voice exploring both Greek music and the American Songbook through a jazz sensibility.
Costas says, “I love songs that convey emotions and strong images. It’s all about the condensed truth that you can find in a good song. I have loved jazz and latin music since I was a kid. Everyone in my family sang and danced. It’s a Greek family, after all!…But nowadays what I really love when I sing are the moments when the musicians, singer and audience can all tune in to a song and have a shared experience which at the same time can feel very personal and real.”
