Monte Cristo, Nicaragua is a large coffee plantation and nature reserve, largely forested as part of the Peñas
Blancas Massif, which forms part of the Bosawas biosphere reserve. The coffee trees grow in rows between and under the canopy made up of native trees.

Coffee once picked is processed at the farm, but the dry milling is carried out at the groups dry mill and warehouse which they purchased in 2014. This has given the farm a centralized facility to allow housing for expertise and control of the quality across the whole estate.

Montecristo goes beyond environmental work by extending its care to the local community. adjacent to the farm a school and nursery have been established, this offers essential facilities and educational opportunities for both the village residents and children of farm workers.
