Jazz Night!

w/ The Wandering Yak serving 6-9pm. 

Luca Stoll was born in Switzerland on July the 14th, 1978. He started playing the cello when he was 9 years old. After hearing Paul Tortelier live, he decided to become a professional musician. At 15, he switched to tenor saxophone and jazz, and at 18 spent 6 months in New York City, attending each week the Barry Harris workshop. In 2005 he moved permanently to NYC. At the Village Vanguard he sat in with Branford Marsalis, with whom he then studied privately for several years. He also took private lessons with Dennis Irwin. In 2007 he earned a BFA from the New School and in 2013 a MA from CCNY.

He performed at Smalls, Fat Cat, Kitano, Little Branch, and other venues. He studied jazz history with Phil Schaap, and taught as an adjunct at CCNY. Luca Stoll has toured Switzerland, France, and Japan. In 2015 he moved to Oxford, UK. 

Joining Luca tonight will be Rob Barron at the Piano, Jeremy Brown at the Double Bass & Mark Hale at the Drums.

There is no admission fee into Hot Numbers however a suggested donation of £5 is encouraged which pays the musicians for their performance & keeps the nights running on a weekly basis.
