Thirsty Cambridge and Le Verre Gourmand UK are bringing 25 wine, craft beer, cider and gin producers from across Europe to Cambridge on 4 June

Up to 800 members of the public will be able to meet the people behind the drinks at the inaugural THIRSTYFEST on Sat 4 June at Bodyworks Dance Studios, Glisson Road, Cambridge CB1 2HA – just 5 mins’ walk from the station (45 mins from Kings Cross). The owners of Thirsty, Cambridge’s funkiest indie wine and craft beer store and bar, are bringing their mischievous, unstuffy approach to good drinking to a wider community from across Cambridge and beyond in June.

Sam Owens, founder of Thirsty, commented:

“It’s all about taking what we’ve done at Thirsty and ‘super-sizing’ it in an awesome new venue like the Bodyworks studios. We didn’t want to run a typical old wine tasting with lots of old farts sniffing and swilling their way from one claret to another. We wanted to replicate the fun and conviviality that people tell us we’ve created on Chesterton Road – and bring the wine side together with craft beer, cider, gin, coffee and food.”

Guests will be able to taste their way around the three Tasting Rooms, exchanging tokens for tasting samples and learning about the drinks from the people who actually make them. Alongside the tasting areas, two bar areas will allow guests to purchase drinks to enjoy in the covered seating area (with Oktoberfest-style tables and benches for up to 150 people). Out front, Cambridge’s most popular streetfood trucks will be serving up their finest grub – which guests can bring inside to eat with a drink at a table. Live music and local artists will also be present throughout.
