Jon Taylor and Tim Richards have been working together since the early 1990s, performing in various outfits including ‘The London Blues Band’ and ‘Grooveyard’. They also toured with US bluesharp payer Mojo Buford (ex-Muddy Waters), Chicago vocalist Deitra Farr, and British blues queen Dana Gillespie.
Taylor's pedigree includes appearances with such greats as Champion Jack Dupree, Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, Lefty Dizz, Harry Beckett, Dick Morrissey, Art Themen, Don Weller and Dick Heckstall-Smith, as well as recording with top vocalists Ruby Turner, Connie Lus and Taka Boom on his album with Earl Green - ‘Bop Brothers... and Sisters’… “A truly rootsy act” (Blues & Soul Magazine).
Pianist Tim Richards has toured Europe with blues guitarists Larry Garner, Joe Louis Walker and Otis Grand, appeared opposite John Lee Hooker, Horace Silver and Miles Davis, and worked all over Europe with his own bands ‘The Tim Richards Trio’, ‘Spirit Level’ and the nine-piece ‘Great Spirit’. His most recent album Telegraph Hill by ‘The Hextet’ was described in The Observer as “A joy from beginning to end”. He is also the author of the acclaimed tutor ‘Improvising Blues Piano’ and teaches weekly blues and jazz piano classes at London’s Morley College.
