Independent coffee roasters Hot Numbers Coffee are looking for a passionate Cafe Manager. for our much talked about roastery You will lead a vibrant team by example, work hard to surpass your best creating excellent coffee and delivering customer service with character, and be a super hero when it comes to managing your time and that of others. You may start work as early as 6.30am, and work weekends, but then we're guessing you like caffeine.

The Roastery is the latest addition to the Hot Numbers family and takes the best bits from our two Cambridge cafes, adding an artisan bakery, training facility and of course, a roastery, all sound tracked to the finest in jazz. A beautiful and stimulating working environment with lots of natural light, we've created a home from home for our lovely and interesting customers, which provides a window into the coffee journey from bean to cup.

So what will you do?

Key Responsibilities:

Applicant must have experience in the following:

· Team Leader:Oversee day-to-day management of shifts to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.

· Scheduling :Creating Rotas, scheduling staff as efficient as possible during busy and quiet times.

·Role Model:Promote a positive and professional working atmosphere and encourage the team to exceed customer expectations.

·Keyholder:Responsible for opening and closing the café, cash up and banking.

·Staff training:Work closely with the existing management team to teach new staff and improve the skills of existing staff members.

·Ordering Stock:Stock management and rotation. Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. Menu development and costing.

·HSE Management:Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene. Previous Food Hygiene training preferred.

Articulate:High level of written and spoken English for Administration tasks, and for email correspondence.

Driver and warehouse team member (FULL / Part Time)

We are currently looking to recruit a driver and team member for our new hub for Hot Numbers The Roastery. With an expanding wholesale business supplying restaurants, cafes, Cambridge Colleges and businesses - we need a flexible team player to assist with preparing deliveries and delivering them in our super cool van from our site in Shepreth to Cambridge and it’s surrounding areas.

You will have a clean driving license, an interest in coffee and be able to start early in the morning

We're hiring chefs!

Hot Numbers Coffee is a destination for brunch and lunch as much as coffee and we need chefs with flair, creativity and stamina to push this even further!

We are currently hiring for our amazing new space The Roastery in Shepreth as well as our beloved Cambridge cafes.

We're looking to expand our kitchen team with a passionate chef. Applicants must be enthusiastic, engaged, and passionate about food and great service. The ability to cope under pressure whilst maintaining both food presentation standards and cleanliness is paramount.

We expect a professional and flexible approach to the job with excellent time keeping standards being critical.

Passion for food essential and an understanding of modern brunch is critical

Shifts will be on average 5 days per week.

Main Duties:

• Basic food preparation of our daily menu items

• Cooking our brunch menu to order

• Good multi-tasking and time management

• Maintaining a high level of food safety and cleanliness at all times in the kitchen

• Stock control and management

• Ordering and receiving deliveries for the Kitchen

• Organising stocks in the kitchen

• Adhering to SFBB standards

The team at Hot Numbers are opening a brand new bakery within our new coffee roastery just outside of Shepreth. We are looking for a creative and efficient Baker to start the bakery alongside the Executive Chef.

We have a permanent position for an experienced Artisan Baker who possesses solid and exemplary core bakery skills and has worked with sourdoughs or other levain based breads.

The role of Baker is to work with our Executive Chef to create recipes, produce and bake artisan bread and other bakery products daily, to the highest standard for our cafes in Cambridge. This position could be a huge opportunity for the right person who can see this as a project to create their own products in a newly established bakery open to ideas and creativity.

Successful candidates must be able to work independently or as part of a team and should have a flexible approach to the job with excellent time keeping standards being critical. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and the products that they produce.

Hours of work:

Varied hours dependant on trade, we are a 24/7 business and successful applicants must be willing to work as required to meet the demands of the bakery orders. Availability to work early mornings and weekends is a must.

  • Working as the sole baker on site you will be responsible for producing a staple bread for the cafes as well as other bakery products
