Cambridge Jazz Festival at Hot Numbers: Chris Allard Dreamweavers at 18:00 on Thursday 19th November
Chris Allard is primarily a contemporary jazz guitarist but is at home in a variety of genres. He has recorded eight original albums to date, critical acclaim includes ???? in Jazzwise, Jazz Journal, Guitarist and BBC Music magazines.
The band will feature music from new album Citadel—and from previous albums Woven in Time and Melodic Collective—with contemporary jazz harmony and rhythm, long-form compositions, rock-infused elements and atmospheric soundscapes.
Chris has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the Pyramids and Great Sphinx in Cairo, the Barbican, Montreux Jazz Festival, Nuremberg Festival, O2 Arena London, Midem Festival Cannes, Beiteddine Arts Festival Lebanon, Edinburgh Festival, Duoro Jazz Festival Portugal, Ronnie Scott’s, Spring of Culture Festival Bahrain,The Royal Festival Hall, the BBC Proms in Hyde Park. He has performed/recorded with Jacqui Dankworth MBE, Charlie Wood, Dame Cleo Laine, Sir John Dankworth, Omar Kamal, Corinne Bailey Rae, the BBC Big Band, Jamie Cullum, Gwilym Simcock, Alison Balsom OBE, Sheridan Smith, Ken Peplowski, Lea Salonga. He is also a Professor of Jazz at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
