As part of Cambridge Jazz Festival Freedom Sound! DJs dive into the unique influence of Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge’s famous Sunday afternoon jazz dance sessions at Dingwalls in Camden.

From the 1980s up to the present this afternoon session was the go-to event for the UK’s best jazz dancers and was rooted in jazz but stretching into Brazilian, Samba, Latin, fusion and acid jazz styles that brought jazz music to the dancefloor and club culture.

Where: Hot Numbers Gwydir St Coffee Shop (01223 612209).

When: Doors open 6pm. Music from around 7.30pm. Food truck on site from 6pm to 8.30pm. Drinks last orders 10.45pm.

Wine, beers and cocktails as well as all the usual supply of fabulous house cakes and hot drinks will be available on the counter for purchase throughout the night.

Please note that there are no table booking on the night. If you are attending with a group and you have purchased tickets separately please note we cannot guarantee you will be seated together.
