Guitarist and composer Ted Morcaldi has forged a distinctive musical voice on electric, classical, and twelve-string guitars as a soloist and within his trio. “A talent to catch,” according to Jazzwise magazine, his playing and compositions fuse inspirations from contemporary jazz, folk and classical music from around the world and ambient music.
Since relocating to the UK in 2022, he has performed at the London Jazz Festival, Vortex Jazz Club and Ronnie Scott’s as the showcase artist for Nikki Yeoh’s “Nucleus Sessions” on the back of his new album “Celestial Stranger” released on Clonmell Jazz Social in May 2025. ,” - MOJO, the album has garnered positive reviews from Jazzwise and MOJO magazine. It also has been featured on BBC Radio 3, Radio 6, Jazz FM, Worldwide FM, and others.
He often performs as a soloist playing classical guitar and electric guitar with electronics and in many different duos and trios around the UK. He performs and records regularly with his band in the US, Secular Music Group, which has just released their third album titled Vol. 3.
