The Story Behind the Farm: A Lifelong Dream
Great coffee is built on generations of passion, and Aurelio Villatoro’s story is a perfect example. Aurelio grew up surrounded by coffee on his father’s farm, Finca La Esperanza. After leaving home to attend school for a year, the pull of the family trade brought him back. He returned to help his father, eagerly learning the intricate ins and outs of agronomy and coffee production.
Aurelio had one ultimate dream: to own and operate his very own coffee farm. In 1986, that dream became a reality. He proudly named his new estate Villaure—a clever combination of his first and last names ('Vill' from Villatoro and 'Aure' from Aurelio). From day one, he has dedicated his life to producing the highest quality Guatemalan speciality coffee possible.

The Next Generation of Speciality Coffee
The future of Finca Villaure is brighter than ever. Last season, Aurelio’s two sons officially joined the family business, bringing fresh energy and modern ideas to the farm. Together, they have already begun running new agricultural and processing experiments, ensuring that this legendary Huehuetenango estate continues to push the boundaries of flavour and quality for years to come
